Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively Donate $1 Million for Hurricane Relief

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have stepped up to support hurricane relief efforts by donating $1 million to Feeding America. This generous contribution will aid in providing basic necessities and supplies following the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton, which have severely impacted parts of Florida and North Carolina. This donation comes shortly after a $5 million contribution from their close friend, Taylor Swift.
In a joint statement, Reynolds and Lively expressed their pride in supporting Feeding America: “Thank you to the amazing people on the ground providing essential needs for families who’ve lost so much in this brutal disaster. Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, CEO of Feeding America, acknowledged the couple’s donation, stating, “Their longtime support of Feeding America in times of crisis has helped our network on the ground before, during, and after disasters. These funds will help food banks provide basic needs like water, ready-to-eat food, and supplies to communities facing heartbreaking loss and a long recovery.”
Reynolds and Lively have a history of philanthropy, having previously donated $500,000 to Feeding America in early 2020 to support the organization’s COVID-19 response fund.
The recent hurricanes have brought significant challenges to the affected states, with the full extent of the damage still being assessed. Hurricane Milton made landfall on Wednesday, resulting in at least five fatalities and leaving three million people without power as of Thursday, according to The Associated Press. This storm followed closely on the heels of Hurricane Helene, which caused widespread devastation in southern states.
