Cristiano Ronaldo continued his impressive form by scoring in Portugal’s 3-1 victory over Poland on Saturday, marking their third consecutive win in the Nations League. Meanwhile, Spain ended Denmark’s perfect start in the competition with a narrow 1-0 win.

Match Highlights: Portugal vs. Poland

In Warsaw, Bernardo Silva opened the scoring for Portugal in the 26th minute, volleying home after Bruno Fernandes cleverly nodded a cross from Ruben Neves back towards him. Ronaldo then capitalized on a rebound to score Portugal’s second goal, turning in the ball after Rafael Leao’s shot hit the post following a dynamic run by the AC Milan winger.

At 39 years old, Ronaldo has now scored in all three games of this Nations League campaign, bringing his record for men’s international goals to an impressive 133.

Piotr Zielinski managed to reduce the deficit for Poland, but an own goal from Jan Bednarek sealed the victory for Portugal, who remains the only team in League A with a perfect record. With this win, Portugal leads Group A1 with nine points, three ahead of Croatia.

Croatia vs. Scotland

In another match, Croatia defeated Scotland 2-1 in Zagreb, ensuring Scotland suffered their third consecutive defeat in the group. Ryan Christie opened the scoring for Scotland, but Igor Matanovic equalized before halftime, and Andrej Kramaric scored the winner midway through the second half.

Scotland thought they had salvaged a late equalizer through Che Adams, but VAR ruled his goal offside, leaving Scotland winless in their last nine competitive matches—an unwanted record for the team.

Spain vs. Denmark

In Murcia, Spain needed a late goal from Martin Zubimendi in the 79th minute to secure a 1-0 victory over Denmark, thus overtaking them at the top of Group A4.

Despite missing key players like Rodri, Dani Carvajal, and Unai Simon, Spain managed to find the net when Zubimendi’s low shot slipped past Danish goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, who had previously thwarted attempts from Lamine Yamal and Alvaro Morata. This win puts Spain on seven points, just above Denmark.

Other Matches

In Group C3, both matches ended in goalless draws, with Bulgaria held at home by Luxembourg and Northern Ireland drawing against Belarus in Hungary.

In Group C2, Romania enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 victory over Cyprus, while Kosovo secured a 2-1 win against Lithuania.
