Peacock’s Upcoming Mockumentary Series Expands Cast with New Additions

The staff of Peacock’s upcoming mockumentary series, a follow-up to The Office, is expanding with exciting new talent. The show, created by Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, has added Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Tim Key, and Eric Rahill to its ensemble cast. They join previously announced actors Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore, alongside Melvin Gregg, Chelsea Frei, and Ramona Young.

In keeping with the tradition of The Office, three of the newly cast actors—Ikumelo, Edelman, and Rahill—are also writers for the series. The original NBC comedy famously featured several cast members, including B.J. Novak, Mindy Kaling, and Paul Lieberstein, who also contributed as writers.

Series Overview

The untitled series will follow the same documentary crew that made Dunder Mifflin a household name as they search for a new subject. Their journey leads them to a struggling historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher’s efforts to revive it with the help of volunteer reporters.

Cast Highlights

  • Gbemisola Ikumelo recently won a BAFTA TV Award for Best Female Performance in a Comedy for her work in the BBC series Black Ops.
  • Alex Edelman arrives fresh off an Emmy win for writing for his variety special, Alex Edelman: Just for Us.
  • Tim Key is known for his roles in the BBC’s The Witchfinder and This Time With Alan Partridge.
  • Eric Rahill has made appearances in popular series such as The Bear and I Think You Should Leave With Tim Robinson.

Production Team

Universal Television is producing the series for Peacock, with Greg Daniels and Michael Koman serving as executive producers. They are joined by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, the creators of the original U.K. version of The Office, along with Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, and Banijay Americas.

As anticipation builds for this new chapter in mockumentary comedy, fans of The Office and newcomers alike are eager to see how this talented ensemble brings a fresh perspective to the genre.
